Often it’s the small touches in the interior of the home that make the biggest differences. Small projects that you can do in a few hours are always my favorites because you get the impact of something different and completed in your home with the week-long, or worse, month-long messy and torn up house projects. If anything ever taught me patience, it was home remodeling.
This is why easy upgrades are one of my favorite things to do around the house. In this case, I’m talking about things like light switch covers, doorknobs, and any kind of handle that we don’t notice because we are used to looking at it every day. I recommend just taking a walk through your home and take a look at these small fixtures. If you think “Oh wow, I don’t like that at all” you know its time to change it. I seriously love this because its such an easy project that takes two hours on a Saturday to do. To be honest, I’m usually directing rather than doing the project, but trust me I could do it.
The take away from this is that changing out hardware in your home where needed will give it a clean, updated, polished look. Some potential projects could be door handles, light switch covers, Kitchen and bathroom handles, knobs and pulls. I also like to change out the hardware on different pieces of furniture. Beautiful hardware can be found for almost anything you could want or imagine. It’s the perfect way to turn a simple piece of furniture into a statement piece.
